ABOUT DENVER FRIENDS
Following Jesus together in the heart of Denver.
Denver Friends Church is a multigenerational Christian community in the Evangelical Friends tradition, learning to follow Jesus together with openness, kindness, and hope.
OUR MISSION
Knowing Jesus. Growing in Jesus. Sharing Jesus.
Knowing Jesus
Know Jesus through Scripture, learning from His life, and following His example.
Growing in Jesus
Grow in Jesus through discipleship, prayer, worship, community, and living on mission together.
Sharing Jesus
Share Jesus through service, our words, our relationships, and the way we live.
Jesus is at the center of it all.
Knowing, growing, and sharing aren’t separate goals—they flow together as we follow Him in every part of life.
WHO ARE FRIENDS?
Rooted in Jesus. Open to His leading.
Denver Friends Church is part of the Evangelical Friends, or Quaker, tradition. Friends have historically emphasized a personal relationship with Jesus, the active leading of the Holy Spirit, Scripture, prayer, simplicity, community, and listening for God.
Our Sundays use a programmed worship format, with music, Scripture, prayer, preaching, and other planned elements—along with space to listen for God together.
SILENCE & OPEN WORSHIP
Silence isn’t empty. It’s space to listen.
Silence has an important place in the Friends tradition. During Open Worship, we intentionally become quiet together and listen for God.
The quiet does not need to be filled. You may pray, reflect, or simply listen. If someone senses the Holy Spirit leading them to share a Scripture, prayer, encouragement, or brief reflection, they may do so. The purpose is not silence for its own sake, but space to listen and respond to God.
WHAT WE BELIEVE
A shared faith, lived with humility.
These beliefs guide our life together. Scripture references can be added beneath each statement.
